| Lemon moon in Washington Square Park | ||
Oh! What I so wanted today was to gaze at the moon shining in the northern sky over Washington Square Park, as I had done before. Above the arch, topping the town house, I still remember the sweet encounter, the shape and color of fresh lemon that eliminates all of my fear and sorrow, a smile of precious light saying; "There is nothing to worry about...." But without the promise, it is not easy to experience the very same moment. |
If I halt, the dealer would run up to me trying to peddle secret desires, or even squirrels would beg for nuts with their pretty night black eyes. And what if somebody asks me to play chess? I might end up at the cold stone table forgetting the moon and just broke.... It is very hard to look up the best moon over Washington Square Park, At this time more than any other I am moved to spill tears. |
